Evacuation of Injured Palestinian Children from Gaza to UAE
A group of fifteen Palestinians, comprising eight children and their families, were transported to Abu Dhabi, UAE, from Gaza for medical treatment.
Arriving in Abu Dhabi via a specially arranged flight, these individuals, primarily children, and their accompanying relatives, were evacuated from Gaza through the Rafah border crossing into Egypt, as reported by Reuters.
In preparation for the journey, seats on the plane were rearranged, ensuring space for the most critically injured children who required stretchers for transport. Some of these children had visible injuries on their arms and legs, while others traveled quietly, accompanied by their parents or relatives. A few children made the journey unaccompanied.
Among the more severely injured passengers was 14-year-old Mohammed Abu Tabikh, who sustained neck and spinal injuries during an attack that targeted the vehicle he was traveling in.
"When I was injured, I felt a shock, and then I couldn't move," he recounted.
These patients, including those with critical injuries and even a cancer patient, represent the initial group arriving in response to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed's commitment to treating 1,000 individuals in UAE hospitals. Subsequent daily flights are anticipated to bring in more individuals in need of medical care.
